Change for the Positive

We’re excited about our new website, www.wildheartcycling.com, that went live on December 14, 2007. In addition to adding more tour dates we’ve added a couple of sections that are important to us – Food and Sustainability.

Food
One of life’s great joys is delicious food. We practice this philosophy at home and in the tours we offer. During the off season we spend our time coming up with delicious recipes that we can make in a campground under a canopy of redwoods or next to the Imnaha River in the Wallowa Mountains. In our mind good food is one of the keystones to a fun and happy life.

Sustainability
We started Wild Heart Cycling with the idea of having a small footprint on this world and making a positive difference. One way we try to keep our footprint small is we run our tours without the greenhouse gas producing SAG vans. This is an amazingly fun way to travel that frees you from one of our society’s biggest footprints. In the making a difference category we support environmental organizations in areas where we tour. On our new California tours we travel through the big redwoods of the Santa Cruz Mountains. The Los Altos, CA based Sempervirens Fund works to protect these ancient giants. During the time we’ve been following this organization we’ve watched them acquire some incredible redwood groves. Most recently they purchased 535 acre Little Basin grove. This grove is adjacent to Big Basin Redwoods State Park which we visit as part of the Golden Gate Explorer Tour.

That’s all for now.

Happy Holidays
